Dog Flea Treatment

Frontline, Advantix, Advantage vs. NexGard

Winner – NexGard!

Ask your Vet for Nexgard! Each chewable cost about $20. Moreover, one chewable is good for a month. One chewable should get rid of the fleas unless they are on the carpet and the dog’s living area.

The Vet probably will want you to get more than one month’s supply.

When fleas and ticks attack, it becomes a real pain for both the pets and their owners. Fleas should be taken seriously as this might lead to complications that could affect your pet’s overall health and even threaten your pet’s life.

Some diseases can develop due to flea infestations, one of which is flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). FAD is the pet’s allergic reaction to the flea’s saliva when it feeds from its host (which is your pet).

Since fleas are blood-sucking parasites, anemia is another health problem brought about by a heavy infestation of fleas. Nobody wants to see his or her pet suffer due to these bloodsucking menaces.

We must find a way to control and prevent these fleas from infesting our pets. These days, new flea control products can be both safe and effective.

One way to control fleas and ticks is by using pet medications. Flea control products are a safe, fast, and effective means of eliminating flea and tick problems the right way the first time. Many people are confused by the vast amount of different medications out there available for our animals.

Among the many pet medications accessible in the market, popular flea treatments that have been getting positive reviews include Frontline, Advantage, Advantix, and Nexgard.

Frontline vs. Advantix vs. Advantage vs. Nexgard Flea treatments, what’s the difference?

Frontline

frontline

Probably the most popular, Frontline not only kills fleas, but it also kills ticks. It can usually kill the flea eggs within 24 hours and is also highly toxic to adult fleas. One more fantastic thing about Frontline is that it doesn’t wash off like a lot of other medications, so bathing is simple.

Advantage

Advantage

Advantage is a topical solution for getting rid of fleas by Bayer. Bayer says the product kills 98% of the fleas in 12 hours, but Advantage does not kill the flea eggs. They highlight that it kills the eggs before they are hatched.

Advantage works almost instantly to kill the fleas on your pets; it is water-resistant and is sufficient for one month. It has a neurotoxin that immediately destroys the fleas on contact. They say the treatment will kill almost all fleas on your pet within hours. The drawback of Advantage is that it doesn’t kill ticks or eggs.

K9 Advantix

K9 Advantix

Another solution from Bayer, K9 Advantix, is beneficial for dogs for getting rid of fleas and ticks.  It can kill fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. It is a powerful and safe medication for your pup.

Just make sure that if you’re using this medication to keep it away from your cats. Medication, if used on cats, can cause seizures and death!

However, you will find that the application process involves putting a few drops of the flea treatment behind your pet’s head and along his spine.

The medicine will dissipate throughout the layer of fat right under the skin and remain effective, even after your pet has been bathed or gone swimming.

The Winner. NexGard Chewables, Available Only From A Vet, But They Work!

Nexgard Chewables

Nexgard Chewables

NexGard is a new product from Frontline, and what makes this different than the others is that it is not a topical solution; it is an insecticide that works from the inside of the dog, effectively killing the fleas by poisoning them as the fleas bite the dog.

Some studies show NexGard killing 100% of a dog’s fleas in 24 hours.

NexGard Works!

NexGard is a prescription-only medication and has a few side effects, so talk to your veterinarian. I have witnessed the miracle of this treatment with my dog; she’s a Labrador who had an outbreak of fleas last year.

After trying some of the other flea products on the market, and without any success, I took my dog to the vet.

The vet suggested Nexgard Chewables, the vet’s words were straight to the point “It works.” After giving a chewable to my dog, I can say from personal experience that the fleas were 100% gone in just a few days, faster than I thought, and the fleas never returned. It has now been over one year.

For the record, I am not a vet, I do not work for Nexgard, and I have nothing to gain from promoting Nexgard over any other treatment. I am just a grateful dog owner, and my wonderful Labrador is grateful too.

I’m not sure who invented NexGard, but that guy or gal should get the Noble Prize. Anyway, you get the point.

I did not notice my dog having any side effects. I gave her one chewable, and it was good for one month.

One chewable should stop the fleas and ticks, and the monthly dose can keep them from returning.

“It works,” and your dog will be much happier and thankful. Ask your veterinarian about Nexgard Chewables or buy online and get it delivered. I’ve found Budget Pet Care, Best Vet Care, and Best Deal Pet Supply has the best prices.
